Jesse Mabonga is a gospel artist, reverend, and pastor who ministers through Jesse Life Music—a powerful blend of worship and biblical teaching rooted in the Lumasaba (Lugisu) language. Born in Sironko District, present-day Bulambuli, to Pr. Charles Watasa and Lorna Watasa, Jesse hails from the Basoba clan, specifically the Babangwanyi family (Banatsabwana Babangwanyi).
A singer, composer, and writer from childhood, Jesse's music flows straight from the heart with a clear mission: to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through lyrics that serve as short, deep sermons. His songs are not mere entertainment but redemptive tools designed to bring life, joy, and transformation to listeners. Grounded in his Bachelor's degree in Bible and Theology from Kumi University, Jesse ensures every composition aligns with Scripture and the truth of the gospel.
Jesse is a devoted believer in Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord, and God—who came in flesh, bore our sins, and rose again to secure our redemption. He ministers as a pastor at Word of Abundant Life Christian Center Uganda and collaborates with Emma of Chase Xc and Javis MC of Trimelodies to produce his music. Every song is fully written and composed by Jesse, inspired by the Spirit and aimed at reaching the Bamasaaba people of the Mount Elgon region and beyond.
